Proper Fitment of Tire and Wheel
Proper fitment of the tire to the wheel is essential to long running, problem-free tires. A common error is improperly seated tire beads. Tires that are not seated on the wheel properly can cause an "out of round" situation which may result in difficulty in balancing. Poor bead seating will eventually result in vibration or shake and affect the ride of the vehicle.
The following should be checked before a tire is mounted.
Wheels
Wheels that exhibit any one of the descriptions below must be replaced:
Wheel with bent flange
Wheel with leaking weld or rivets
Wheel with elongated stud holes which are caused by improper lug nut tightening.
Wheel with more than 1/16" radial or lateral run-out.
